Three girls from the marketing team—Emilie, Lisa, and Justine—went to Paris to support the VivaTech exhibition. We took this opportunity to enrich our social media content. During their stay in Paris, they shot some great footage. Later, I edited the content using Premiere Pro and After Effects.

I am really happy with the result. Part of the reason is that I enjoy watching YouTube videos for entertainment and have always wanted to replicate certain special effects. This project was the perfect opportunity to learn and execute the visual effects I’ve always wanted to try.

“Little Red Riding Hood,” which is about 1 minute long, won the Best Cinematography award at the 2011 Travel Safety Short Film Competition organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan.

The film tells the story of a little girl who comes up with an idea to travel safely. To avoid the dangers of the forest, she ties a linen thread between herself and her mother. At the end of the film, a slogan appears, saying:

She uses a thread, what about you? Wherever you go, it’s best to keep your loved ones informed for your own safety.

Scénario :

I wrote the script based on a very simple concept: the red linen thread. In the story, it acts like a telephone wire connecting people. Furthermore, I used ‘Little Red Riding Hood,’ a fairytale character who instantly catches the eye without needing any extra backstory. This is highly effective for a short film that lasts only one minute.

‘‘Bloody Tree’, a short film running about five minutes, is the first film I directed in France. During my summer stays in France, I took the initiative to capture the beauty of the Alsace landscape. As a third-year film student, after taking a directing class that deeply inspired me, I wanted to create a fictional piece with a touch of humor.

So, I asked my family and friends to help me out. Even though none of them had prior video experience, they were all incredibly motivated to support the project. Despite equipment limitations, we managed to shoot this short film in just two half-days. After all, it’s just for fun!

This film is much more personal since it wasn’t restricted by any academic or professional guidelines. I developed the script entirely on my own this time. Because there were no other trained crew members, I was in charge of the entire shoot.

Additionally, I handled the editing and post-production effects.

March 23, 2014, was a historic moment in Taiwan, known today as the Sunflower Student Movement. That night, a group of students broke into the Legislative Yuan (Taiwan’s parliament) to protest against a government decision made in favor of China. Later that night, riot police arrived and used unjustified violence to remove the students.

That night, I was a witness to this movement. Participating in a political protest for the first time, the scene left me deeply shocked. That’s why I decided to document it. The film might be too dramatic to be considered a strictly neutral documentary; however, I’m glad I recorded it. I handled the framing alongside my friend, as well as the editing.

‘Dig-In,’ running approximately eleven minutes, is a short film my classmates and I produced in 2012. The theme revolves around dark humor and horror.

‘Dig-In’ is a 16mm celluloid film. Shooting on film is becoming increasingly rare, and operating a camera like the SRII is highly uncommon and certainly more expensive. However, we wanted this incredibly rewarding experience. We are quite proud of how this horror short turned out.

This short film was part of our bachelor’s degree project (a four-year program) at the National Taiwan University of Arts. We were a group of twelve students sharing the project’s responsibilities, and I served as the Art Designer. The pre-production phase was undoubtedly the most exhausting, yet the most fascinating.

I spent countless weekends scouring flea markets to collect suitable furniture and props. During the week, I worked extensively on set dressing (wallpaper, furniture, lighting, overall atmosphere…).

Because the space was tight, and considering the large crew required (the heat didn’t help either), I spent much of my time ensuring the set remained intact and properly arranged. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the hard work we poured into this film. From the script to the staging, I loved every single step.
